We are the largest bulk food grade transport company for liquids and powders and have a rapidly growing reputation in plastics, minerals, construction, animal feed, and non-hazardous chemicals sectors. To ensure our fleet is optimised we operate a road tanker network of depots and operating sites designed to minimise mileage and create flexibility in the service we can provide to our customers.
Our road tanker fleet is large, modern, diverse and capable of safely and hygienically transporting a wide variety of products, from depots and operating sites strategically located to provide the flexible and responsive service our customers need.
The Abbey Logistics Network is designed to improve the service and cost-effectiveness of our operations, reduce empty mileage, maximise efficiencies and give our customers the most accurate and timely information they need, when they need it.
We fully utilise our large network across the UK, planning movements with accuracy, responding quickly to customer requirements, scaling up resources when needed and resolving any unforeseen events quickly and without any impact on the service our customers receive.
The network is managed by dedicated and highly experienced planning teams, based at our major depots. Our planners manage all movements through Abbey’s planning system which is fed by real-time GPRS and cellular data, providing our planners and our customers with accurate information, timely updates, and forecasts on deliveries.
Visibility of vehicles, transparency of operations, continuous investment and timely resolution to any operational challenge is key to the success of the Abbey Logistics Network, coupled with clear management information and approachable, professional staff all combine to offer a user-friendly, reliable, and flexible service dedicated to our customers’ requirements.
