Abbey Logistics Group, one of the UK’s largest bulk liquid and powder logistics providers, has appointed the chairman of the British Transport Advisory Consortium to lead their engineering department.
Well known and respected engineer David Batty will manage Abbey’s rapidly expanding fleet of liquid and powder tankers, trucks and distribution trailers, and take responsibility for Abbey’s maintenance depots across the country.
David will oversee all new vehicle specification to ensure Abbey Logistics provides the most appropriate equipment for each of its customers. He will also play a leading role in supporting Abbey’s commitment to vehicle maintenance compliance.
David joins the business with more than 40 years of industry experience where he gained a wealth of knowledge through working with some of the UK’s leading companies.
He is highly regarded among his peers and in 2007 was awarded the prestigious “Motor Transport Service to Industry Award”, followed by an induction in to the Motor Transport Hall of Fame in 2016 for outstanding contribution to the road transport industry.
