Warehouse Manager

Warehouse Manager, Bromborough, the Wirral

Abbey Logistics is recruiting a Warehouse Manager to manage our growing and successful warehousing facility in Bromborough. The role will be working closely with and reporting to Abbey Logistics’ Business Development Director.


About the Role

Responsible for a team of Warehouse Operatives, a small team of LGV Drivers and a Warehouse Administrator, within a multi-client high volume warehousing and distribution operation. The focus of the business is on 100% customer satisfaction.

We are looking for an individual who can be the driving force in the warehouse, confident in outlook with a positive attitude and comfortable with the daily running of the operation including on target achievement of the business KPI’s. Close supervision of operatives and drivers is essential to being successful in the role. This role would suit someone with Management experience who is looking to move into a stand-alone Warehouse Management role.

A good understanding of Warehouse Management Systems is a must as is previous control and experience of managing Driver hours and Goods in/ Goods out processes.

Our warehouse facility also provides materials handling operations for plastic polymers and granules so an understanding of environmental and safety compliance would be beneficial.


Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
  • Stock including investigation of discrepancies
  • Goods-In/Goods out
  • Vehicle loading & unloading (Class 1 vehicles)
  • Product put-away
  • Workload planning & management
  • KPI management
  • Performance management including reporting for management team
  • Absence management including return to work process
  • Control of warehouse operation & team including temporary staff
  • Completion of timesheets
  • Liaising with Fleet Department
  • Operation and upkeep of WMS in conjunction with other business systems
  • Warehouse administration
  • Customer liaison and relationship management
  • Warehouse facilities management
  • Ensure Health and Safety is never compromised
  • Environmental best practice in line with our commitments to industry best practice


Skills Knowledge and Experience:
  • Experience of building and managing teams
  • Experience of implementing BRC (quality, safety and operational standards)
  • 2 years plus experience in a similar role
  • Energetic, dynamic & confident with a can-do approach
  • Computer literate including the use of Excel & Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills
  • Health and safety
  • CPC national/international (desirable)

Working Hours:

Monday – Friday

8am – 5pm (must be flexible to meet the needs of the business and willing to travel to other locations as necessary)
