Transport Operations Manager

 

Location: Liverpool (The site location will be moving to within a 20-mile radius in 3-6 months.)

Salary (dependent on experience): Competitive plus, car allowance and additional benefits

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We have an opportunity within the Tanker Liquids Division in the role of Transport Operations Manager with full operational responsibility for the Liverpool and liquid chocolate operations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

To manage the transport operation and distribution depot, delivering a safe, compliant, profitable and customer focussed operation that meets depot targets. This role will include responsibility for maintaining a competitive cost base that delivers best in class customer service and underpins profitable growth whilst improving team and depot performance.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To fulfil the statutory responsibilities of the role by ensuring the following objectives are achieved:

  • To manage, audit and review compliance systems to ensure they are effective
  • To review any shortcomings e.g., annual test failures
  • To ensure relevant changes are notified in accordance with operator licence requirements
  • To keep up to date on relevant changes in standards and legislation

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experienced Transport Logistics Manager CPC National and International
  • Health and Safety qualification (desirable)
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of the tanker logistics industry
  • Able to manage and align multiple functions across the depot
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to command respect at all levels
  • Ability to work autonomously yet able to collaborate as part of a wider team
  • Experience of supporting and embedding the people elements associated with transformational change
  • Excellent organisational and team building skills
  • Champion of excellent Safety and Compliance standards
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Experience of managing a profit and loss account
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications and vehicle planning programs
  • Flexibility to travel and/or stay overnight to attend regular Management meetings with Customers and Colleagues

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Educated to O ’level/GCSE, standards (desirable)
  • International & UK CPC holder (Preferred).
