Marketing Executive Overview

Are you are looking for a Marketing role where no two days are the same, where you will get to use, enhance and learn a broad range of different marketing skills, and work in a highly experienced, successful and friendly Commercial team?


Abbey Logistics is the UK’s largest bulk food road tanker company, our customers include some of the most well-known brands in the country and we are rapidly growing both our non-food customer base and European operations.


We are looking for an organised, creative, and enthusiastic marketing executive to join us and develop their career alongside us as the business develops.


The role will be based at our site in Bromborough on the Wirral and our depot in Liverpool, close to the city centre. This will initially be a 3/2 days split.


It’s a diverse and exciting role that will grow in responsibility as your experience grows. You’ll be handling a variety of marketing projects, including internal/external communication, online and offline campaigns, producing content, photoshoots, events, and exhibitions, as well as supporting the commercial team with bid submissions, tender responses and preparing presentations.


Key Responsibilities of the Marketing Executive

The purpose of the role is to support our commercial team maintain our existing customer base and reach new customers in our target markets. You will communicate our commercial offering and build our brand in new and existing markets in both the UK and Europe.


The marketing executive position is a perfect role for somebody passionate about marketing and looking for a business to support them, develop their skills and gain valuable experience in a fast paced, growing and well-known business.


You do not need to have any experience in the logistics sector, but you do need to have bags of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn about the industry through structured support from our team.


Duties include:

  • Development and delivery lead generation campaigns, utilising email marketing, social media, paid advertising and SEO.
  • Content management – including blogs, press releases, social media posts, award submissions, tender proposals, presentations, company magazine and web site material.
  • Client engagement – delivery of events and exhibitions
  • Clear reporting on marketing metrics
  • Brand guardianship – ensuring the Abbey Logistics brand is delivered consistently across all touch points and producing effective sales collateral to support the business development team.
  • Supporting the HR team with internal communications and key messages


Skills & experience we are looking for

  • Marketing qualification or studying towards a recognised qualification
  • Experience and knowledge of website CMS systems (WordPress)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint skills essential
  • Experience of using LinkedIn as a lead generation tool
  • Photography and Photoshop experience (advantageous)
  • Strong eye for detail
  • Energetic, positive & inquisitive
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal & written
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable managing data
  • Strong initiative/self-starter



  • 25 days holiday
  • £22,000 – £25,000 per annum based on experience
  • Flexible hours based around a 37.5 hour week (Standard working day 9am – 5pm)
