Please note, the Fabricator role can also be based at our depot in Bromborough on the Wirral.

£35,000 – £42,000 per annum – depending on experience
The role of a Fabricator at Abbey Logistics

We are looking for a talented Fabricator to join our workshop team at our depot in Liverpool. The new Fabricator will be working on Abbey’s large fleet of trailers and road tankers to ensure compliance and reliability.

Other duties may involve working on specific fabrication projects for on-site structures or similar.

This is an interesting and varied role and a great opportunity for a skilled, well-organised individual to join one of the UK’s leading road tanker companies.

Fabricator Duties
  • Fabrication work to include chassis repairs, general accident damage repairs in aluminum & stainless steel and other project-specific general fabrication duties.
  • Our Fabricators are responsible for ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and secured and ensuring that safety standards are always met.
  • Consistent ability to complete work on schedule and to quality standards
  • Tanker / Trailer experience preferred but not essential.


  • Adhering to safety standards.
  • Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions.
  • Verifying dimensions and product specifications.
  • Marking cutting lines on material.
  • Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and fitted correctly.
  • Ensuring that quality control standards are met.
  • Maintaining a production schedule.
  • Testing products for their functionality.
  • Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience
  • Relevant academic or professional qualifications required for the role along with necessary experience
  • Specialised in coding welding, certification preferred but not essential as training will be provided
  • Competent in Mig,Tig & Gas Welding
  • Proficiency in operating heavy machinery
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Dealing with driver queries and vehicle maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, environmental and management systems.
  • Any certification welcomed but references of experience accepted
